Lagoon ReelsShore fishing notes from west Cornwall

About

I'm Stephen Trewin. I've lived in Penzance most of my life and fished this coast since I was a boy in the nineties. I worked in boatyards, then in maintenance for the council, and I'm retired now.

Why the site exists

I kept paper notebooks for twenty years and lost most of them to a leaking shed roof in 2014. The site started the following summer as somewhere the notes couldn't get wet.

The name

A lagoon isn't a Cornish word and there's no lagoon here. It came from a boat I helped rebuild, which was called Lagoon, and the reels are the fishing. It made sense at the time.

If I've got a regulation wrong, or a species, or a piece of geography, please write. Regulations in particular — that's the one kind of error here that could cost someone a fine. notes@lagoonreels.com.
